Actually, besides the regular fine art supplies - brushes, paint, pencils, pastels, pens, paper, canvas and clay - we stock a bunch of other fun stuff, too! We sell print-making materials and tools, different sculpture mediums including hebel and stone, PMC clay, sculpey, clothing dyes, and so much more. We now also have a range of resins.
Need a quiet spot to gather some inspiration! Our book nook is tucked in beside the mini café, which has great coffee and so many different flavours of rocky road its hard to choose just one. Next time you’re in, grab a coffee and sit and enjoy the library of art books, from reference books to how to books. Some are now out of print but if you love a book we will try and track a copy down for you.
Drawing Point Gallery
Yes we have a gallery, located at the rear of the store. On a regular basis (about every 3 weeks) the exhibitions change, with a mixture of solo shows, group shows or competitions throughout the year. The space is ideal for a solo exhibition as it’s not a daunting space to fill and with the supportive local arts community opening nights are always relaxed and fun. The space is available for hire, bookings and costing available on enquiry.
The side line makings of local artists. This is the ideal space to find that quirky little gift for someone or maybe just for yourself, as all the wares are handcrafted, unique and made by local artists and artisans. We are always looking for more suppliers so if you fit the bill please enquire very reasonable rates available. Not forgetting to mention the ART Smiths artist wall which also changes each calendar month. So much to look at and to be delighted by!
Well, we frame lots of things. We can frame your photographs, painting, tapestries and cross stitches. We also frame and stretch canvas of different shapes and sizes too! We have a wide but affordable range of mouldings (that's the wooden part), plain or non-reflective glass, a huge range of matting colours and can even do box frames if your project requires it.
We do our absolute best to keep the price of framing down (as it's generally quite expensive), while never skimping on quality materials or craftsmanship. All jobs are completed on premises by our trained and experienced staff. Our turnaround time is generally within 2 weeks depending on the current workload, but you'll get a better estimate when you place your order. Best of all, we offer free, no-obligation quotes! So if you're interested at all, come into Arttime - we'd love to discuss your framing options.
A few things to note:
Firstly, any clothing, memorabilia, etc. is tricky to frame at the best of times. We recommend you call us before making a special trip in if this is you, as we have other framers who specialise in memorabilia and could perhaps provide a better service for you in that case. Also, for any LARGE items (over 100 x 100cm), be aware that there's a chance we may not be able to frame it so give us a call for some more info.
